Basic Cat Care

 

First of All

  • Your Pet needs primarily your companionship, love and respect.

Housing

  • Prepare good bedding and litter box for your cat. Cats like smooth and soft bedding.

Grooming

  • Usually cats don't need grooming because they clean themselves, unless very dirty, or fleas infested.
  • Comb your cat's hair every day, this helps in reduction of hair shedding and reduction of hair balls (licking and vomiting back the hair)

Food and Water

  • Provide your Pet with fresh water ALL THE TIME
  • Give your cat a balanced diet meals (usually three meals a day). Cats are Carnivorous (meat eaters) therefore their diet should consist mainly proteins (boiled meat, fish, chicken liver, canned meat or fish , with rice or bread and some vegetables like carrots, potatoes ...etc.),
  • Calcium sources (like cheese or soft cheese, boiled eggs, yogurt), and you may also use dried cat food after testing few amount first and be sure that it's safe for your cat.
  • Never give your Persian Cat milk, Persian cats don't have the lactase enzyme which digest milk lactose, substitute it with yogurt or any milk product.

Vaccination

  • You should Start your cats vaccination schedule at 2 months with a booster dose after 3 weeks and repeated annually.

Deworming

  • Treat your cat for worms regularly (every 4 months).

Regular Check Ups

  • Schedule regular check ups with your vet for early detection of potential threats.

Spaying/Neutering

Recognizing Illness
